A Controlled Drinking Zone was introduced to clamp down on drunken anti-social behaviour. The zone means if people are asked to stop drinking in the area by the police they must do so.  If the instruction is refused, they could face a maximum £500 penalty.  It's specifically aimed at people causing trouble and doesn't mean everyone will be asked to hand over their alcohol.

Also, a new transport policing team has been introduced in the area.  The new Hub team consists of a sergeant, a police officer and two police community support officers (PCSOs) will be on buses and around Stratford station to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.
