Harvinder was born in Kenya and resettled in Newham with his family. He lives with his mother
and he is married with four children.
Harvinder
was educated in local schools and attended colleges within the borough.
After
leaving school he gained an electrical apprenticeship and he currently works for
a building services company looking after two buildings for an International
Investment Bank.
He
have worked for his current employer for over eighteen years and has resided in
the borough since his arrival in this country.
He is proud to be a School Governor for the school he first attended after his arrival in the country.
Harvinder was recently elected as a Councillor again in the 2010 local elections. During his earlier term as a Councillor in Green Street West he also chaired the Green Street
Community Forum, Green Street Partnership which seek to improve local services
and a better quality of life for the local community. This gave him an
opportunity to interact with the community enabling him to listen and work for
community cohesion.
Harvinder
enjoys working within the community with enthusiasm and with a sense of
responsibility. He believes that locally we have achieved a great deal but wants to carry on improving our area. This can be only be achieved with the new initiatives
set out by our Labour Mayor and in partnership with the community. He wants to keep working to make Green Street even better.
