Salim has lived in Manor Park for the past 17 years. He has a young family and his children go to local schools. He works as a Train Manager for Virgin Trains and he is a passionate Trade Unionist being a member of RMT and TSSA. Salim is also a School Governor at William Davies Primary and he have been Secretary of the British Indian Muslim Federation in Newham . He have also served the Labour Party as Ward Secretary for Manor Park and as an observer at Labour Group and a member of LGC-GC. Finally Salim is proud to be a member of Newham Fabians.
Salim has worked in the community and supported youth activities. His knowledge of the local community and as a resident for 17 years gives him the experience and necessary community skills to help and work with all our diverse communities. Salim strongly believes in community unity and solidarity. His beliefs teach him that there is more that unites us as people than divides us, whether we are Hindu or Muslim, Christian or Jew, Sikh or someone with no belief at all.
Salim was elected for Manor Park ward in the 2010 local elections. He will work tirelessly for Manor Park residents to help improve the area even further.
